Yelp Review - August 27th - 4 stars
I had gone to Smokin Woody's or ordered take-out from there several times when it was under the OLD OWNERSHIP. The
food was pretty good, but the service was THE WORST IN THE CITY. I commonly got hung up on or put on hold for long periods
of time when trying to order. The staff seemed completely unapologetic to the customers for whatever screw-ups they
inevitably would cause. It wouldn't be uncommon to order food to pick up and have to sit in the restaurant 30 minutes
or more past the time they told you it would be done . . . Under previous ownership the food was 3.5/5 stars, the service
was 0/5 stars.
I've been to Smokin Woody's twice now under new ownership. The BBQ burger I got was
amazing and the service was diligent and courteous. Under new ownership the food is 4.5/5 and the service is 4.5/5 .
. . It's nice to help support a neighborhood business that actually appreciates my patronage.

Decent BBQ (I had the pulled pork).
The night we ate there (a Sunday night), they were out of chicken and spinach
salad. :(
The server (and owner??) was very nice, talkative, charming. We ate on the patio (small, no frills,
clean, some flowers planted, not a bad spot).
Things just seemed a bit scattered the night I was there. But I might
give them another try.
There was a CASH ONLY sign in the window, which was also a bummer.
BYOB. Yea!

Grub & Pub Club
Here's the deal. Club members meet each month at Woody's for dinner, and then we all move along to a local pub/bar
for cocktails and whatever the rest of the evening may bring! Shoot me an email, or stop in and let me know you want
to join. - Jimmy

I've been walking by Smokin' Woody's for the past week or so thinking about trying it, and finally stopped in
today. Wow.
First, it's not your usual giant pile of BBQ slop. It looks really great and tastes even better.
Jimmy and the rest of the guys there are a really nice bunch and aren't afraid to have a conversation with their patrons.
They are incredibly friendly and gave me a nice welcome as soon as I came in the door. I had a seat and was handed a menu
instantly. I settled on the BBQ Beef Sandwich and gave my order. My plate was literally on my table in less than a minute.
It looked absolutely incredible. Nice thick slices of beef on a big roll, smothered in BBQ sauce with a side of cole slaw
and whole redskin potatoes, all piping hot. It tasted as good as it looked and now I'm stuffed.
This place
will definitely become a regular stop for me.

Wow! what perfect service. I called up tonight to order out and the guy that answered the phone was so nice, he made every
accomadation i asked for. Was super friendly. Made a few suggestions. i have to say I love the new menu. i panick on ordering,
dont ask my why but I just do, i like the scaled down menu. So easy to follow now.
The food arrived really fast
and the delivery guy was super. they no longer take credit cards. checks or cash. thats fine with me.
the salad
looked fantastic! came with baby carrots. yummy. The food was excellent. I never had a complaint prior but I see a huge difference
here.
I think this might be my weekly fix, god help me!

Yelp Review - August 9th - 4 stars
Stopped by here for lunch on Wednesday. Was greeted by the very friendly new owner/manager.
I had
the pulled pork sandwich which was nice and included some burnt ends, which were tasty. The pulled pork is served wet
with a red sauce, and although a prefer the tart vinegar sauce of North Carolina I never expect it here in the Midwest.
The lunch plate came with the "potato of the day" which on that particular day was 3 small whole potatoes
cooked with garlic and butter. They were well made. It was also served with a side of cole slaw which was about
average. I wish it would have been more tart to play off sweetness of the red sauce.
I will definitely go
back and try the ribs upon which I will adjust the star rating accordingly, as rubs are a big test.

Yelp Review - July 30th - 5 stars
Owned and operated under new management, we went here today for lunch. I started with the sweet potato fries and got the classic
pulled pork sandwich with new potatoes. The sauce was tangy with a little kick of heat, but not overpowering or too spicy.
The pork was nicely shredded, not stringy like some places, but not too chunky either. The sauce soaked into the kaiser roll
it was served on, making the treat even more satisfying! The cole slaw was perfect, nice and creamy consistency with a great
taste, and not slimy or sour like some other places make it. They are building a new website (the one listed here is old and
not from the current owners) and will be renting out the back patio for private parties. Note that it is BYOB and there is
no charge for bringing in your own booze. So grab your twelve pack of Natty Light and head over to Smokin' Woody's
for some great BBQ in a renovated location, with a friendly new management team, and the same - if not better - BBQ foods.
Bring cash too. They don't take credit cards.

i just ate here for lunch, and WOW! The new management really knows what they're doing. I was a little sad that wings
were not on the menu (since I'm a wing-a-holic), but the BBQ chicken breast sandwich that I had was the best that I have
had in Chicago. My friend had a BBQ beef sandwich, and she practically inhaled it because it was so good.
It's
also MUCH cleaner inside than the old one, and the new management is super nice.
I would give them 5 stars, but
I am still on the hunt for really good wings in Ravenswood.
